Beaten By Xr8...what Should I Do ?

Hey guys

I was Just cruising around the other day and pulled up to a set of lights (on a private road) and I was looking at a BF Xr8 next to me. We both went on the green and it seem to nab me by about a qtr of a car length, it did not sound stock. I was just wondering is the xr6 T supposed to be much quicker than the xr8 beacause when I spoke to the guy he said it was mostly stock. I have a BF Mk2 Xr6 Turbo Auto ZF with only mods being....Typhoon CAI, K&N. The latest dyno at C&V showed 220 RWKW. I would assume that I would have beaten the xr8 (especially because the guy saying it was stock).

IS IT TIME FOR AN EDIT ??????? or will that just chew more petrol and burn more tyres ??

Also do ford know that it has been edited because I still have 2 yrs of warrenty and want to keep it that way.

Is currently running 4.5 Psi Stock (how does that compare) .....would I be able to increase that to around 7-9 safely with no changes to anything except obviously the EDIT. (thus being a typhoon)

G'day Cranny !

Given the information you've provided, surely you should run mid 13's as opposed to mid 14's for the XR8.

Did you leave the box in D for Drag or did you manually shift ??

(I find manually shifting off the lights the car is a bit quicker, allowing the engine to rev higher)

If you're going to do a Flash tune, you might as well do the fuel pump and injectors or maybe even do the exhaust too??

You can always mod the car and make it more powerful, but at the end of the day your driving will limit how quick the car goes.

either he was talkin from his A$$ and the thing was worked or your car isnt running right a ZF XR6t should wallop an XR8 if its "fairly stock", but then what does fairly stock mean to this guy? edit? exhaust? headers?

The thing sounded nowhere near stock TBH...but I was a bit cut up lol

I used Perf on the gear box...I did not manual shift...I have read somewhere that manual shifting is a bit slower cause it doesnt let the car rev out as much for safety.

But the big question I want to know is will ford know if I tune it and dont touch anything else ??

I agree with xrdose the dude was probably talking out his a$$ stockish XR8 unless you seriously fudged up the gear changes but you left it in auto....

I know how this feels excpet I got munched by a VE SS & R33 running 400hp last night (mates of mine, long story missed gears) it hurts the pride :buttonit:

Would of hated to be beated by a commodore...I was lucky it was a ford...

I feel sorry for you.. you got handed to by a VE SS sh*t...
