Well everything is going well so far, got a panel beater/painter mate to fix all the dents and scratches, bought a set of over priced XR floor mats from fraud, got all the tyres balanced and checked and its currently getting a full suspension check. Just got an SMS from ford to remind me not to forget my warrent appointment to fix my subwoofer and clunk in the front end.

GOOOOOOOOOOOD

Hi I also recently bought an ex telstra BF XR6T with 42k. Is it common for people to have probs with the sub in cars with premium sound systems after a couple of years, I'd had mine about 2 days when the sub went I got it fixed last week, does anyone know if this will be a recurring problem with the factory subs?

Hope it isnt a problem tha has to be fixed every two years anyway....seems like Telstra like dishing out the premium sound foe some reason??

Can I ask how much did you pay and what month/year is yours??

It's an 04/06 model, I ended up payin just under $26k drive away, which was from a dealer and it's in immaculate condition inside and out, just a few tiny scratches which you really have to look for to notice, apparently they'd had trouble movin it so knocked about $4k off the original asking price. I'm pretty stoked with the premium sound it's pretty decent for a factory job, my mates got a Super Pursuit trayback with just the standard system which lacks a bit of audio punch.

How's yours going? Did you have a problem with your sub as well?

Yeah the sub is blown and is at ford now getting fixed under warranty. But other that that its great, all the stonechips and scratches have been fixed and im currently in the process of doing a serious detailing job on it. I have another 3 weeks off work so by the end it should be spotless. Drives great too, love scarring people that havent been in one before haha.

LOL Telstra cars. I'm on my 4th and um no comment...

But yeah they get serviced as needed and if something needs to be fixed/replaced they just get it done.

By the way, a lot of them have the premium sound because a lot of us option it in, I've optioned it on all 3 of the cars I ordered new. Never had any faults with the sub though?

Well got off my ass and out of my car and finally took some pictures.

And also after my warranty work I received a letter from Ford saying that my car is due for a service...how much are ford services usually? All that they would need to do is change some fluids etc....?

Sorry about the lack of any artistic skill with the photos too....

Cheers Robbo,

Yeah it was a long rebuild, lots of cash went into that one, resprayed the original colour, total interior re-done back to original except the genuine XR GT buckets, engine needs some work but its good for cruising, but its done now.

Time to more on to the new XR......
