Similar to mercturbo I was shadowed by a cop in a VYSS for a while near Lithgow. He didn't pull me over but when I slowed down for the town he sped off. Good example to set for other motorists...not.

When I pick my car up this time next month, I don't want to be pulled over at all. I bought my new SS Late model camira in February '02. I got pulled over for a licence check on my way home from picking it up. To this date I have been pulled over 83 times. After about ten times I started a log in my glove box of the name of the officer, the rego no. of the car and date and time. What makes things worst is that I work for the Queensland Police Service. So, I will be very happy to see coppers just drive straight past me and wave. Maybe they just have pity on me because I drive a Expensive Daewoo at the moment. NOT FOR LONG!!!!! The only explanation I have ever been given is that I am 19 and I drive an SS. That's fair enough but after about 83 times do you think they would start to get the idea that I do actually own the car. NO

Only pulled over once for being 9km's over speed limit. Gave an economic explanation of why I shouldn't be booked. It worked  Knew I did Commerce/Economics for some reason.

Heres one for ya! Had car 2 days, this day was my birthday. Was booked for doing over 100km's in a 50km area. Prob was I wasent, I asked to see the rader to which the officer replied " sorry mate deleted it " The he handed me a ticket for 640 bucks. Happy b'day mate. But he liked the car and said it looked very fast. The ticket is going through the courts now as I have put in a protest. PS I was meant to have done this in the space of 200 mts. that's get to over 100kms and pull to a halt with out emergency braking. I feel sorry for the boys who buy the XR8 cause over in NZ they are in trouble!!

Ive heard that if they cannot produce a radar receipt to show you the speed, then its not valid..

that's not true...

They don't even need to have a radar.

All they need to do is follow you for 400m to get a rough idea of your speed and they can book you.

This is in NSW anyway.

Hope you win Kiwi, that is just plain wrong....cop was probably a crumpledore fan..

Just came back from Canberra and passed four cops between Jugiong and Coolac. (about 20km distance on Hume freeway.) They didn't touch me, but did book the Late model camira in front of me doing about 130km.   I did get breath tested around new year and spent 10 minutes talking to the cop about the car.
