:o Article in todays Telegraph about the reception the Pontiac GTO alias Monaro has recieved in the US. It has been desribed as an Aussie sucked caramel! Enthusiasts have said a GTO has to look like it's breaking the law parked at the kerb and the styling of this machine is just another bubble car. The protest has been led by Pontiac enthusiasts website- ultimategto. com- which showed its displeasure by using a Mustang as its picture of the week following the release of photos of the new GTO. First time in the 9 years of this sites existence that the car of the week photo wasn't a GTO! :o

l like the Monaro.

The yanks have got no idea on cars, why else would they take a good looking design and stick a stupid looking nose on it and call it a GTO. The Monaro is all sweeps and curves so of course it isnt going to work. Dont like the HSV versions for the same reason.

Its a good Aussie design IMO.

True that the front end of the GTO looks crap, but I think the negitivity has more to do with the car not being "American Made" more than anything else.

I would like to see there reaction to Simcoes original design, the yank design guru's have been forcing crap down there sheeps throat for too long. As for www.ultimategto.com maybe they should look at the shamozol of a webpage they've got before bagging somebody elses design's. :o

WTF is an Aussie sucked caramel!

Well if it's anything to go by. A good mate of mine (Who happens to be American) and his mate came over to the land of Aus for a holiday.

They saw our N/A and their reaction to it...........They loved it. QUOTE: "Wow, I wish we had Fords that looked this cool back home". So their taste isn't completley in their backside.

Go the BA.

I read an american magazine a few years back which rated the Taurus something like 78/100 so that gives you an idea where their tastes lie :spacecraft:
