Have done so in my past few cars.Can say I've never had a problem, and they have all lasted for longer than I've ever kept any of my cars!The've all been powering modified cars with decent stereos and have never missed a beat. I have some small issues with them. I find that the alternator finds it hard to charge these batteries and that every now and then you need to put a charger on them for a good long charge. Also, lead acid bats tend to charge up to a 13.X volts whilst the Optimas only every charges up to a 12.X volts. Otherwise OK for cars not driven often but wouldnt use for an every day car again.
