Dont rely to much on the accuracy of service stations tyre guages. They are dropped and thrown regularly and will only ever give ball park figures. Go get yourself one that has a metal body and analog guage readout.

Why does Ford suggest such low tyre pressures? Are they expecting us to come back and buy tyres of them.

Good advice that. I always carry my own gauge that way I'm sure it's right.

Yay another thread mine LOL

And I've been running mid to low 30's on everything for years, no issues... Some tyres require more psi than others some less, sidewall construction plays a part, although I'm talking about general road driving and comfort, not race track use or for ultimate tread wear...

Ive always ran my tyres at 40psi due to the profile of the tyre ( 245/35/19 ) . I wouldn't use a servo tyre pump in a million years there just to dodgy .

As silly as this may sound I have found the best way to keep all your tyres at the wright pressure is to use a good quality track floor standing bicycle pump . Takes a bit of work the first time to get them up to pressure but when they are you only need to have a look at them every couple of weeks . It only takes a 2/3mins and they are very accurate .
