My mate is Heading down to brissy tomorrow to look at an 05 Ba Mk2 6 speed manual ute with 150 000ks on it.

Its gonna be his first turbo car, what should he be asking, should anything have been replaced or so on. he's taking a mechanic

so yeah fire me some questions to pass on...

Thanks Mitch

The mechanic should know what to look for but I'd be careful buying a car with so many km's, especially a T! Seems like it might be a company car with that much mileage so could be highway km's... Still a big chance that some bits will need repairing/replacing due to general wear & tear though as ETM said.

Mate just see how it drives. If it makes any weird noises then spend your cash some where else

If it's the shockwave blue one for 16.5K, go over the paint twice to make sure you it hasnt started peeling/cracking/chipping away. For more info search Fordforums.com.au for 'shockwave' and you will see what I mean!

Man, that's a fair few k's its clocked up, I would be very wary of ware and tare and would expect to be replacing bits and pieces down the track. The mechanic if his any good should be able to sus a few things out for him.

Good luck.

Yes! Some very horrific stories and pictures there! In my search for a XR, it's enough to turn me completely off buying a car painted that colour. Shame really, I was really wanting that colour too. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

How'd the inspection go with the ute mate?
