I must have done 5-7000kms with my setup now and there is still barely any oil in the little filter between the rocker breather and the crossover.

I have checked the catch can between the PCV and the intake manifold and there is a bit in there though.

Have you got a picture of your setup mate, I don't think you would need a filter would you?

The back line with the PCV on it is where all the oil from and ends up in the runners of the B series Turbo's. I have a cheap paper fuel filter on the front breather and there is lucky to be a quarter of a teaspoon after maybe 5k km's.

If I ever get time and remember I will drop the oil from the rear breather catch can to see whats in there but going off what the runners looked like before I put it on then there should be a decent amount inside.

I run anywhere from 16-20psi also.

Great write up. Now from what Ive read here the rear pcv is the culprit for oil in the intake system. I've been running a catch can for the front rocker cover line (and I can say that with 5-10k km ther is. Bugger all oil in the can). So would it be best to change my setup by; plugging the hole on crossover, and putting filter breather on rocker cover. Then use my catch can for the rear pcv/intake manifold??

P.s I fitted my can on the factory air box. Quick and easy. Very concealed. I've used black hoses and if I paint the can black, most ppl won't even spot it. Can post pic if anyone interested.

To be legal it has to go back into the inlet tract.

So fill your catch can with stainless steel scourers and it will get 90% if not all of the oil particles before it goes back into the inlet.

On another note my catch can off the pcv after 7000kms has probably got about half a cup of oil in there. not including all the residue left on the scourers.

Depends on boost levels, what oil brand and thickness you use. So many variables though but unless its chewing through oil I wouldn't worry!

Can any catch can do the job? I've seen heaps on ebay going for $30 - $150.

Is there a particular brand or style that's more suited for our cars?
