Oil Catch Can

Does anybody have pictures of Plazmaman battery relocation on there FG.

A couple of angles would be good and in particular the area between ECU, battery.

Reason is I'm looking for mounting position other then the brake booster for two catch cans 75mm in diameter.

What power are you running? I've been told 450rwkw+ should really be running a catch can for both breather and PCV, with a size more like -10 or -12.

Obviously have to weld on AN fittings for this.

Have you sorted yours yet Tom? Was surprised you hadn't when I saw your car at cms around a month ago.

I have a can between the battery (PW relocation) and the ecu and wouldn't recommend it if its a daily and you plan on using the AC.

The plastic vent at the back of the engine bay is for the AC and in slow traffic if the AC is set to fresh air it will smell a fair bit. Can't notice it once moving though.

Yeah bud, mine is mounted where the heat exchanger used to be and all run in black for stealth

I have them fitted to both my PCV and Crank Vent circuit. They work very very well as they have a true air/oil separator built into the lid.

I run a check valve on the PCV line so the can doesn't see boost and the PCV can collects aprox 100 to 150mm of oil between changes (changes at 5,000k's) the crank case can hardly collects any these days and I put the down to the PCV line back to the rocker cover closed off under boost.

Mines CC vent is also tucked away where the stock trans cooler used to live (lower bracket/hose clamp is an anti rotation device as the bottom of the can had a falling out with the top have at once stage and wound up bouncing down the road)

Pics a bit busy but the horizontal hose and middle hose run from the CC vent down to the can and back around to the Turbo inlet and the RH hose runs back to the PCV Can.

Think I've got the solution to the tee piece off the FG manifold.

The tee piece as 3 sizes,

3/8 barb on manifold side, 5/16 PCV side and 3/16 off top.

I've found a fitting which I believe will work

I use this fitting in -6 with

I put the female side to PCV and run check valve straight of this to Catch Can.

A 1/8 male 3/16 barb will fit on threaded section in middle, leaving the male end to mainifold.

Hopefully the theory works.

I was just going to get the JLT catch can as it's the most compact unit around plus I saw it on Horsepower TV ages ago so it must be good...lol. Otherwise there is an infinite amount of possibilities but the biggest thing imo is the size as most of them are a joke! I could understand if it was attached to an original LS1 motor you'd need a litre model but come on seriously even 250ml is crazy....

In all honesty though I scrimped on one back years ago when there were no small units so I bought a plastic fuel catch can and modified it (chair leg rubber stoppers and the works lol) but this is an important bit of equipment even though it is rather simple. I haven't had as much blow by with my 2008 model engine as I had with my 2003 but the 2008 I believe is running the gt3576 so way less boost in the higher rev range also where the pressure is greatest.
