Oil Catch Can

that's for the pcv and when I fitted my plenum (and then re-fitted it) it was obvious that a lot of oil had splashed up in the plenum as a result of this. It's this line that causes oil build up in the runners and cylinder 6 is most affected as this is the area where the line enters. So yeah a catch can on this would be very good idea indeed! My rocker cover catch can has indeed caught all the oil from the intake side, but the pcv side really needs attention IMO.

That's because most of the time is spent driving in the low to medium

throttle position, that is when the PVC circuit is active.

This is most defiantly what fills the plenum and intake tract/valves with oil, and NEEDS a air/oil

separator.

Ok, I'm starting to build a mental pick here as well as some ideas.

So after you plumb the PCV what do you use to block the tap on both the intake and the intake pipe from which the breather hose centre most of the rocker cover comes from?

So can the rocker cover vent and the pcv valve be vented to the same catch can?

By this I mean running hoses from both to the catch can, joining them together with a 'y' joiner then into the c/c inlet. Do the same in reverse on the return lines.

Just trying to avoid having to squeeze two cans in.

Totally agree with the rear line on the rocker cover having a catch can attached. I had the front breather hooked up to a catch can for ages and found it had virtually nothing in it until recently I changed my injectors and looked into the plenum and found easy a teaspoon of oil sitting in each donut runner thingy!

See attached pics now for my recent setup, nothing special as I just went off what someone else did with the fuel filter inline from the front breather and my $50 catch can stuffed with steel wool (steel shaving like ball shaped scouring pads!) in the back breather.

I'll check in a month or so the amount in my catch can and see what it accumulates but dare say it will be a fair bit. The front breather as you see in the photo has stuff all oil and this is about 2-3months worth.

p.s. Yes that is a rubber chair foot on the top of the catch can!

Awesome, thanks bjc, that's what I was wondering too- if the rear breather was the big offender.

Looks like the front one is hardly worth a catch can.

So where does the other end of the rear vacuum line attach too/end? (not the rocker cover end)

Yep rear breather is the offender for sure. The other end attaches underneath the standard plenum, roughly in the centre if I remember?. I originally didn't even take notice of it until the injector change and holy fck it was worse in there than my old BA XR8 and it was supercharged! I just put breather filters on both sides of the V8 and that was a big mistake, use to smoke its tits off under wide open throttle, lol.

So just remove the two nuts off the brake booster to fit the bracket, and it wont fall to pieces/leak while I place the bracket at replace the nuts? :buttrock:
