I have had conflicting opinions on the topic from different people that I have spoken to. Some say yes and some say no. What is the best thing to do for my car??Chasing opinons from people with the XR6 turbo as to what option they took with their vehicle. What do you think? If you fit a turbo timer the car is not able to be locked by the central locking remote. The locking option and boot release will not work on the remote while the engine is running. You need to lock the doors manually with the key.

Otherwise it doesn't need it as there is a built-in thermosyphon effect that keeps the water circulating through the turbine housing for a short while after shut down. Other than that I don't bother. Driving around the city at 60 doesn't matter as you are rarely on boost.
