IM gunna buy an HKS type 1 turbo timer, allows you to do a heap of timing stuff also, ie 1/4 mile times 0-100 times, loads of stuff liek that, has rpm measurments, digital speedo, And all for 200 bucks, not bad I recon.

turbo timers are legal if it only works when the handbrake is on, that's what I have read, and you shouldnt really give it and then turn it off, if you can for the last two minutes or so before you turn your car off just drive with little revs as possible. this will help the turbo slow down, but if you turn the car off after you have just given it a flogging the turbo will still spin for a minute or two with out oil. its almost as bad as starting your car with no oil in it. so if you want your turbo bearings to last a long time, respect it.

For people who dont understand the meaning THERMOSYPHON

thermosyphon cooling: A natural cooling, using the fact that two columns of liquid at different temperatures possess natural circulation because the hotter column weighs less on account of its lower density; thus the hot engine must be located at a lower level than the cool radiator

Is it recommended to fit a turbo timer onto the XR6 Turbo?

I have had conflicting opinions on the topic from different people that I have spoken to. Some say yes and some say no.

What is the best thing to do for my car??

Chasing opinons from people with the XR6 turbo as to what option they took with their vehicle. What do you think?

If you haven't already done so then do a search buddy, as you will find plenty of these conflicting opinions on this forum as well.

Trent.
