have a turbo timer cheap insurance, just use the key to look the doors, anyway if it's put in properly the handbrake can override it. if I don't give it a hard time I turn car of then release handbrake then it turns of . if driving hard my blitz turbo timer decides how long to go for on it's own, make sure it's in right though.

Apparently its been done.. Working and all.. With Remote Lock working.

Posted on another xr6 website by a wiz - foxtrot3 - I would think he is on this site aswell maybe? :shocked:

First thing we need is a list of parts which will vary depending on how you will be connecting wires so some of you will need solder and tape and others will need terminals and crimping pliers, its up to you but I have NEVER burnt a hole in someone’s seat with a pair of crimping pliers.

Other parts needed are

1 A Turbo timer which has two outputs (to ignition and accessories)

2 A 5pin changeover relay (terminals marked 30,87,87a,85,86)

3 Enough wire to extend the turbo timer wiring as needed

Next thing is to work out where to fit the timer and either under the tissue box or under the dash to the left of the steering column seems to be the best places.

Once this is worked out extend the wiring as needed with power and ignition wires going to the side of the fuse box the accessories wire and the earth wire behind the fuse box and if you need it the park brake wire over near the bonnet release and speedo going the other way to the passengers side kick panel. When running the wires to the fuse panel tape them all together and run them over the top of the steering column and cable tie them to the two holes in the brake pedal support frame or the existing wiring.

Now the fun part, drop the fuse box by undoing the 3 taptite screws holding it in place and find the group of wires from the main loom to the steering column and connect the power feed to the thick yellow wire and the ignition feed to the red/green wire coming from the ignition switch (if you cut this wire it will have power on the switch end and no ignition lights on the dash) Do not connect the accessories wire here.

On the back of the fuse box locate the plug nearest the top left edge (when the fuse box is fitted) and find the red green wire that is in the second row down and second row in from the edge of the plug, cut this wire and extending if necessary join one side to terminal 87a and the other side to terminal 30 on the relay run the accessories wire to terminal 85 and an earth wire to terminal 86 and connect the earth wires to a suitable earth point ( just beside the top left mounting point for the fuse box is good)

The park brake wire is in the right hand kick panel near the bonnet release (orange/green) and the speedo wire is in the passengers side kick panel (a black wire in the loom from the engine bay with no wire on the other side of the plug unless there is a factory nav system)

I did mine about 2-3 months ago from instructions on falconxr6turbo.com with a couple of adjustments.

power to yellow cable at fuse box constant 12V+

negative crimped to far left of fuse box on bolt to chassis then to pin 85 of relay.

acc to pin 86.

ignition to top of steering column red/green wire. (doesnt make voltage drop upon cranking)

handbrake cable under center console to brown wire that changes voltage when h/b is active.

cut red/green wire on top right (rear) of fuse box when removed, extend both end to relay pins 30 + 87a (no order)

SO WHEN THE TIMER IS RUNNING THE ACC WIRE POWERS THE RELAY CUTTING THE SIGNAL TO THE ECU ALLOWING YOU TO USE REMOTE LOCKING.

:-D

Hey everyone, I've got an Apexi turbo timer and have been trying to install it and get it to work, well only this afternoon anyway. I've hooked up the correct wires which I chopped out of the plug into what I think are the right wires coming from the ignition barrel being: constant 12v yellow, accessories white, and finally device on to the red one with I think the green stripe which if I'm not mistaken is the coil. I also obviously put the earth wire to a bolt. The device has 2 other wires that I havn't connected being the A/F wire and the 02 wire.

Now to my problem, the lights come on the device, it says 30 seconds, I drive the car around for a while and then turn it off expecting the turbo timer to kick in, and the car just shuts off, need help please

I have just purchased one but have not received it yet but I had a look at the wiring diagram and from what I can make out this is the way it should be connected. Let me know if this is how you did it.

Timer Car

Red = Yellow

Blue = Black with Grey Stripe

Green = White

Black = Black with Grey Dashes

Grey = Hand break. 0 Vol when hand break is up and 12V when down.

Its not something to do with the standard alarm system in the car is it. Dont they immobilize once the key is out.
