never attempt this in a stock T anywhere, anytime , unless you have a few ks run off and heaps of width. Brakes nowhere good enough , neither the suspension. Even in a Phoon with Brembos, stock ,these big taxis behave exactly like big floating boats under brakes from high speed, and as stated before, white knuckles all the way pulling the farker up. Don't trust Fords standard enginering to hold together :spoton:

PHANTMXR6,

How did your car feel at these speeds? Solid or sketchy.

I'm not sure how confident I would be to want to go much fast than this in a stock FGT if it was able to go faster. Much faster than this would have to be the limit of the brakes, Downforce etc.

Benny

Quite comfortable actually. Road and wind noise was at a more than acceptable level.

I've got a stretch of road that is approx 8kms in length and is dead straight and flat.

No cars coming in either direction.

It wasn't a very breezy day either and I would imagine a little bit of movement with wind at those speeds though.

I have complete confidence in my car at that speed due to the tyres being very grippy, brakes were acceptable when used ( normally just coast down to highway speed from high speed ) in my opinion, but the biggest thing is how confident as a driver you feel and the confidence you have in your car.

As for me, I have that confidence.

Exactly...post removed.

Unless you've found the limit on your driveway or a section of private road/race track we don't want to hear about it :Welcome2FordXR6t:

On a slightly rtelated topic, I drove a EB II that wasn't speed limited but had the one piece driveshaft and lets just say at a bit over 200kmh certain seals let go and transmision fluid went all over exhaust. result = lots of smoke= bad.

This was done in the NT in the good old days. I guess there is a reason for speed limiters

Hi guys,

I have had my FG XR6T to 236km/h on the ICC, verified by GPS @ 235. So a limit of 230km/h sounds about right.

This was not on a highway, so no flaming required.
