I have the factory clock fitted where my gauges go so I was hoping I could use the power supply that feeds it. Only thing is I pulled it apart and there are four cables there. Which ones do I connect to positive and negative?

Dont think I can use the clock anyway. Have just thought about it and I think that two of the wires would be for the clocks constant power to move hour and minute hands and the other two would be for the illumination when the lights are on. Is this right?

That is correct, but you could use the illumination for the gauges.

Having constant power will not work for powering the gauges as it will flatten the battery.

You can get switched power from the mobile phone plug behind the fusebox.

Using the clock loom causes nothing but trouble in my experience.

It's variable voltage so depending on the gauges you're using it might cause them to play up.
