"I cant afford" :crybaby: ...That is your problem.

The lack of an LSD has nothing to do with it, other wise you would just fit an aftermarket LSD

that's a harsh call mate, as far as I known Big Aussie luxery cars traditionally came with LSD were the generic branded ones did not is Statesman yes pov model Expensive Daewoo no.

Not to mention that changing driveline companants in an expensive new car opens all kinds of problems with electronics and warranty issues.

I cannot see any logical reason why the GE should not have a LSD and hopefully all will be revealed in due time. Until then unhappy and pissed of Blue Oval supporters will grow with little to no PR to apease those silly enough to reamin loyal and fork out big dollars for a local product, when it is evident that FORD dont give a rats ass.

Scotty

PS not even going to comment in the FPV 5 year birthday, as so far they are biggers wankers than Ford.

As I said fellas - take it or leave it... and in response to vfast, no it has nothing to do with taking sales from XR6T.

I can understand your frustration at not knowing, but I assure you, it's for a good reason. Future models (when some APPROPRIATE changes are made) WILL get LSD.

And by the way Dags, I wasn't trying to get "nothing"... just putting a little info out there for the rest of the Ford fans... I wish I could say more, but I can't.

Ahhh so a G6ET R-Spec with 350kw is coming after all....

The dealer where I am buying my G6ET is fitting an LSD and carrying out all the colour coding (de chrome the whole exterior) for me before I pick the car up and the total cost is $2300!

Good value for dealer fitted genuine parts mods.

The fact that the new G6ET lacks LSD is now known to all... but it wasn't to me before I took one for a test drive... so here is my opinion:

I would have to say that the lack of LSD is the definitive reason why I would not buy one...

Its not even so much about being able to hang the arse out... but you can use LSD to stabilize the car when driving swiftly or enthusiastically on a windy road - its part of my everyday driving!.... I wouldn't own a car without LSD.

I test drove a G6ET with the 19s on it, cashmere etc... what a great car... but it DID NOT let me have any fun when turning the traction control off... even when provoking it into slide, the inside wheel just started smoking! how pathetic, I thought - and unsettling in a car with such power. I have read on these forums about someone testing one and the thing stepped its arse out when planted.... but none of that for me??- and I seriously doubt my foot was too light on this occasion!

Before finding my 05 Phoon to buy, it was going to be an update to the latest G6ET or XR6T... after driving the XR I realized it will never be an FPV (and the seats on FG XRs are RUBBISH), so it was down to the G6ET to sway me to FG... it feels all class - just as much or more than an FPV with leather - but no LSD broke the deal for me.

I understand that not all will even use an LSD, but come on... those people will mainly be buying a G6E non-turbo.

Ford HAVE, and will, lose sales on this car because of it. What an absolute shame. And it was such an obvious solution to implement. Sometimes Ford get things perfect (rarely), other times they really have their head up their own butt and just dont get it. I hate to say it, but there is NO WAY Expensive Daewoo would put a powerful engine in a car without LSD.

Can't you get an lsd in a g6e as an optional extra?

Again another 'without LSD all is lost' thread.

Seriously if you into chewing up $480 rear tyres in your daily drive then yes the G6ET isn't for you, because it may only do one at a time.

I just find it amusing how many people see this as a major flaw. Keep in mind you dont find LSD on many Porsche models either although it is at least an option. I guess it comes down to you driving expectations / style.

The usual statement - should Ford have at least made it an option? Absolutely. Does it really detract from the car, in my book, no it doesnt. Are they losing sales to holden? I doubt it, most people just by an XR with it's crappy leather if LSD is THAT important.

ps. I regularly find it stepping out from the lights with full throttle.

Excuse your XR comments mate, not everyone wants a single spinner with the grandad/queen options with base model suspension and interior that is ruined if you fart near the car,the XR6T is the cult car of aussie motoring history and the re-badged fairmont should count itself lucky for having an XR engine as an option, atleast in the XR range you have the choice of a V8,The XR range is respected highly as it has been around for nearly 20 years, most people would ask WTF is a G6ET (pig latin?) if they were to ask what you drive.
