Hey fella's just wondering if anyone has experienced once you turn of your FG and take out the keys, your thermo fan keeps running for at least another minute.

You can even lock your car and walk away.

Its only happened to me twice now, but is it normal?, Its preety cool, just like a turbo timer but for your engine. Haha

Any ideas?

It means you are driving it hard and turning it off too early! its normal mate, the car can just sense that it is running hot and keeps the thermo's on for a littel longer to get the temp down

Doesn't matter how hard you're driving it mate, just make sure you give her enough time to cool down before you put her to bed.

Just make sure you take it easy in the last five minutes or so, and if the fans on when you're going to turn it off... don't!

I experienced this for the 1st time today, quite a hot one in Syd and didn't drive it hard but ben out for a few runs prior so he got a bit hot plodding around the local streets after voting. Looks liek they have done some work in this area on the FG as the BF never did this.

The BF's can be made to have a "manual on" for the fans if you wish.........

Solder a lead on each of the terminals for the 2 relay earths for fans (in engine bay junction box). Treat them as parallel circuits if you want them to work properly. Remove the front inner splash shield and run the 2 wires through there and into the cabin via the a-pillar grommet.

Connect each "circuit" to a single throw dual pole switch. Connect the other end of the switch to earth.

It won't work after the power is off, but at least you can stop the heat building up so much as you have them on in the last few K's  before you leave the car. Good for traffic also.

Maybe they didn't fit the FG style feature to the BF's as they can be hard on the battery????????
