ETM Member 1,194 Member For: 17y 8m 5d Gender: Male Location: syd south Posted 04/09/08 11:23 AM Share Posted 04/09/08 11:23 AM Check for bent or eroded fins, check that it spins freely, check for excessive shaft play, all turbos have some shaft play, it is hard to know what is accceptable and what is not without experience.I have seen a guy knock back a turbo that was only hours old because he said it had too much shaft play, he clearly didnt know what he was looking for. Few bargains around atm If your going for a manual, clutches are pretty weak too, load it up off the line or in 3rd/4th gear & it will slip if its gone.
