Is there much involved in fitting one of these?....do I need a hoist or can I do it on the ground? Checked their site but no fitting instructions... Has anybody else got one of these....what do you think of it? Thanks guys.....

Look in the Mal Wood section, theres probabally a few pointers there.

Drop the box enough to get your fingers in under the tunnel, from the inside.that's how I did my ripshifter. If you want to get crafty I can show you how I shorted the stick an inch on mine... there was a bit of cutting grinding and re-cutting involved lol but its a nice short throw now. Posted 04/09/08 11:46 AM Author Share Posted 04/09/08 11:46 AM (edited) I only got the shifter...no hardware and no instructions.......but that shouldn't be a major.... My main query is the bolts..... Someone told me that the factory shift is held into the trans by bolts that cut their own thread...kinda like a self tapper?? Is that correct? By the look of it, the bolts that hold it on are big countersunk screws...but I think the ford ones are hex bolts and I don't know what thread they are to go and buy em'...... I dont want to get the thing all pulled apart then find out the bolts wont fit you know...... Edited 04/09/08 11:50 AM by BionicXR6T

The shift in those instructions has two little plates you adjust for setting movement of the gate (front and back). Whilst its a different brand of shifter, should I fabricate and fit some of these? Or are the Herrod shifters designed not to use them?
