Mmmmm...maybe, it doesn't really seem to serve any function, just an aesthetic thing. Presumably this is an extra cost? I dare say the money could be better spent elsewhere on the car. Just my opinion.

Yes

Why would you pay extra for this feature if all it does is change colour (not performance), which you won't see anyway cause you're driving around inside it. The only time you could see it would be when you are stopped and the brakes are allowed to cool, but how long would that take - like watching grass grow surely :beerchug:

The brakes themselves are to improve performance, the apint was just something that looked cool. You're right though, you wouldn't see it change colour so there's no real point

While we're on the topic, here are a couple of replies to enquiry emails about brakes

DBA

Grant,

We have a kit that utilises a DBA 330mm one piece disc, with either a 4

piston or 6 piston caliper, the brackets are manufactured locally. At

this time AP Racing don't actually make a kit, hence we have put

together the kit over here. The kit contains:

AP Racing 4 or 6 piston caliper

Ferodo DS2500 brake pads

DBA 330 x 28mm disc

Goodridge street legal braided lines

AP Racing Dot 5.1 fluid

Caliper bracket and bolts

Prices are:

4 piston - $2675 inc GST

6 piston - $3675 inc GST

Hoppers Stoppers

Grant.

For BA Fords

Yes we have a 330 mm by 32 thick twin piston kit for the front starting

at $2200 with PBR corvette calipers or 4 piston AP racing calipers on the

same rotors going between $3500 and $3700.

Min 17inch wheels required incl your spare.

The thermachome is quite sensative and with our hot temps over here in W.A would be colour changed just sitting in the carpark.

Only on cold winter mornings would they be the original colour.

And yes it costs more....and so far only avail on Jap cars. Subaru,EVO and Skyline....and for some reason new Mini.

Much rice.
