I am looking at getting some 20's for my G6E Turbo and the rims will be 8.5 at the front with 245 wide and 9.5 with 275 wide tyres. The rims will have a 35 offset front and back.

I plan on lowering it in a few weeks time and an wondering if I the rears will rub at all once lowered?

From what other members have said, you might find 245's on the front with 20's tricky to do, and the 275's may need the gaurds lipped if not rolled. Someone with experience here will be along soon no doubt

I run 20s on my fg with 245/35/20 all round and have no trouble at all and the car is lowerd and dosent scrub at all but if you are going to run 275 in the rear I would get the gards rolled just to play it safe .

I have 19" rims with 9.5" wide 275 on the rear and 8.5" 245 on the front. I had the guards rolled and then I lowered it on Saturday.

If you are thinking SSL's on the rear, FORGET IT! I have SL's all round and it's not rubbing at all. 9.5" sticks out wider than the guards. Might be different for a FG.

If you want someone to roll your guards, let me know. The guy did a great great job, no cracking and would would never know they have been rolled.

Maybe I should get 265 with a different offset for the back so I dont have to roll the guards??

Depends on your offset. I ran 275 rears on a 9.5 inch wide fusion rim on my BA with SSL on the bum without an issue.
