We often make reference to losing points for offences when we infact acrrue points. Once 12 or more demerit points are accrued then a licence suspension is imposed. This is the same for the other States as well though they will also refer to losing points not accuring them, as to suggest that you have won something by earning ponts.I.B. Member 563 Member For: 17y 11m Gender: Male Location: Sunshine Coast QLD Posted 08/09/08 12:23 PM Share Posted 08/09/08 12:23 PM (edited) If you have lost your licence as the result of DUI or speeding or excessive reversing then it should count as a loss of licence as the poll suggests.I.B.Thanks for the heads up Sherlock. You'll make detective yet! The reason that DUI was suggested as a seperate vote is because the thread from which this poll was derived was all about one member losing his licence due to speed and the resulting discussion about what the number of people who had lost there licence in a similar way might be. Many that participated in the original thread thought that loss of licence through speed related offences was quite low. When this poll was started, there was only one option for loss of licence option. I suggested the DUI option so that it didn't fudge the figures relating to how many people actually lost there licences through the savage and unneccesary targeting of motorists by the goverment, who see speed as nothing more than a cash cow which they milk unrelentlessly. You know all of this, as you were part of that thread, so I am suprised you couldn't see reason behind it.
