Can be run at normal pressure though, if you have something like nitrogen in your tyres.

I think it's also done to keep it as consistent as possible between cars aswell.

I can't imagine it would make that much difference... Could be wrong though.

hmmm never seen it done ,had dyno runs at a couple of shops

car usually goes on dyno the same way I drove it there ,which is a good indicater of what yu've got I think , start changing things before a dyno run and it's not really what it;s goin to be like on the road

I know on a dyno, the harder your tyres the better, as the resistance of soft rubber can hurt the final figure, and also lead to slip when they get hot, so 40psi would make them a bit more repeatable - consistency as Adam said
