I have a friend who got done with a 240kw turbo on his P's. Power to weight still f*cked him. Your alowed 125kw per tonne so an XR6turbo has to much power. For an estimation an xr6t is 1700kg so 1.7 x 125kw = 212kw's. If you get done mean cop you will get fined. My mate ended up selling his cause he got caught twice by the same cop and he was warned if he was caught again they would impound the car. Not worth the hassle mate. And with insurance you will not be covered because you are not supposed to be driving the car...... As soon as your doing somthing illegal insurance will tell you to piss off... Superoo Member 340 Member For: 22y 6m 7d Gender: Male Posted 31/08/08 12:01 PM Share Posted 31/08/08 12:01 PM The laws in Victoria have changed for P platers but the XR6T is not allowable regardless of when you got you P's. It sounds like you already have one - did you check up on this stuff first?Maybe I'm getting old but stuffed if I know how you guys buy these things and then ask questions later. I'd be worried about insurance, rego issues and then the ongoing "dont drive in area's that will bring to much attention to yourself". Where are these by the way?I understand the temptation to get into a T. You need to decide on whether it's worth all the hassles but just remember, sometimes on the road sh*t just happens. I'd be more comfortable knowing I'm not going to have anyone pull my insurance out from under me when I was knowingly doing something wrong. Good luck and keep the car straight! He said that he'll impound the car if he see's me driving around in it again. Now I dont have 2 worry cause im off my p's but it all depends on the cop, some will let you off and some wont. Its just a risk that you take when driving it. I know they aint nothing special but still better then a v6 commy or somthing Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/49230-driving-a-xr6t-on-ps/page/2/#findComment-726634 Share on other sites
Superoo Member 340 Member For: 22y 6m 7d Gender: Male Posted 01/09/08 10:26 AM Share Posted 01/09/08 10:26 AM Fair enough mate - for what it's worth, I think you are asking the questions at the right time. If you decide to stick to what's legal, you'll have no issues, can drive around without any worries and then you can look at a T once you're off the P's. You may even be able to get into an FG by then!
