Mike, I just called Mister MINIT in Riverton and its $160 to supply, cut and code and spare BA/BF key. 15% discount for RAC members so that works out to $136.

Check my previous post, there is a Mister MINIT up your way.

Cheers Goran. I'll give them a call and see what they charge if I supply my own BF blank key.

I paid $15 to get a BF key cut at one of those dodgy little counters in the local shopping centre, probably was a mister minit. It's the same style as just about every Late model camira on the road so most places can do them provided you've got the coding side all sorted.

BA is a different story though, no bastard ever wants to know about them.

I just rang my dealer to ask them, and they sent me down the road to the joint they get em done. Mine was a BF key too, and a got genuine.

Well I just rang up a few places.

Mr Minit wants $35.95 to cut my already purchased blank Ford BF key. He did mention they can supply a generic BA/BF suitable key for about $160 and program it too (like you mentioned above Goran).

Lynford goes through Diamond Lock and Keys and they want to charge $65 to cut it, what a rip.

Lynford said once I get the key cut, to phone them up, book in the car with their Service Dept and it will cost $133 to program all the keys to the car.

Seeing that I already have a blank key I may as well just get it cut at Mr Minit and get Fraud to program it. I'm almost tempted to buy another blank off Ebay and get two blanks cut at the same time and get Ford to program 3 instead of 2, as it will be the same price still I'm sure.

Mike, you do know that Mister MINIT can program a new Ford key as well when they cut it? They somehow copy the codes from your existing key to the new one.

Also if you have two keys, you can program a 3rd without the need to take car to dealer.

Goran, they said they can program a new key, but not the genuine ford one, its like a generic one which they can program. (unless I totally misunderstood them).

Oh that's good to know, so if I get a spare programmed through Ford, then if I decide to get a 3rd one cut/programmed, I can do the programming myself then as I'll have 2 keys already. Cool :)
