qik1 Silver Donating Members 2,720 Member For: 16y 9m 12d Gender: Male Location: Loitering in SEQ Posted 26/08/08 03:32 AM Share Posted 26/08/08 03:32 AM this is a carry foward of a topic I started in the turbo section but with updated info. im in the first stages of makin my T into a jet & just want a few opinions on what im hoping to use.howard conrodsje piston & ringsapr head stud kit, apr main sud kitmetal head gasketbillet oil pump gearscyclinder block main bearing bracepowerbond harmonic balancer 20% under drivenhigh boost valve springs (not sure what brand)???possibly either ported standard lower plenum & plazmaman top section or a nitto plenumcyclinder head porting & everything that goes with it!!!to4-z turbo, s/s maniflod & so on.custom dump pipe& of coarse there will all the ususal replacement bits bearings & gaskets & so on.going to looking further into the zf 6sp strenghtening but will happen all at once.im obviously not doing it myself so I am paying for it appropriatly but I dont mind because I know im gonna get the best job possible. hopefully we should come out with a strong 10sec streetable car!!! im doing it because I intend on keeping the car for a while & I didnt choose a bigger turbo for drivablility on a daily basis.thanks john. qik1 Silver Donating Members 2,720 Member For: 16y 9m 12d Gender: Male Location: Loitering in SEQ Posted 26/08/08 04:52 AM Author Share Posted 26/08/08 04:52 AM probably not a bad idea. it wont be used on the track very often proably once or twice to see what it can do but apart from that it will be used as a rice burnerrrr hehehe. forgot to mention the fuel system will be uped a alittle to support it with a surge tank as well. the turbo is still undecided because we're not sure about what power level we want to take it to. do I spend all this money for a 80kw gain ot there abouts & have reasonable drivability or do I take it to the next level & have complete weapon on the street & track. by the way the wife has a work car so im not really concerned about it being a designated family car. can always run it detuned when she has it. decisions decisions Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
