this is a carry foward of a topic I started in the turbo section but with updated info. im in the first stages of makin my T into a jet & just want a few opinions on what im hoping to use.

howard conrods

je piston & rings

apr head stud kit, apr main sud kit

metal head gasket

billet oil pump gears

cyclinder block main bearing brace

powerbond harmonic balancer 20% under driven

high boost valve springs (not sure what brand)???

possibly either ported standard lower plenum & plazmaman top section or a nitto plenum

cyclinder head porting & everything that goes with it!!!

to4-z turbo, s/s maniflod & so on.

custom dump pipe

& of coarse there will all the ususal replacement bits bearings & gaskets & so on.

going to looking further into the zf 6sp strenghtening but will happen all at once.

im obviously not doing it myself so I am paying for it appropriatly but I dont mind because I know im gonna get the best job possible. hopefully we should come out with a strong 10sec streetable car!!! im doing it because I intend on keeping the car for a while & I didnt choose a bigger turbo for drivablility on a daily basis.

You've got it pretty well covered there mate, I'd be speaking to ETM re the manifold, turbo and dump pipe - he does awesome work with an appropriate price tag.

I'm pretty sure the Nizpro valve springs can hold the sort of power you will get, but you could also look at Crow items, these are suppposed to be quite good too.

Also I don't think the head needs much work, they flow pretty well as standard.

thanks senna, I wanted to try & keep all the stuff from one place but thanks for the suggestion. also with the cyc head porting is something new/diff that they want to try, I guess they want to make something just a little different & not that expensive of an experiment in the grand scheme of things. im not sure what sought of power we're looking at but I would imagine it will be a hand full of fun!!!

Yeah, keeping it in house is sometimes easier, but a proven product like the ETM kits can make things alot easier when it comes to development time.

The T04Z should support around 450 easily and still be quite responsive, they are a freak of a turbo - big power and response is hard to find!

Good luck mate, I'm sure it will turn out an absolute animal, maybe you should consider some stronger CVs too...

probably not a bad idea. it wont be used on the track very often proably once or twice to see what it can do but apart from that it will be used as a rice burnerrrr hehehe. forgot to mention the fuel system will be uped a alittle to support it with a surge tank as well. the turbo is still undecided because we're not sure about what power level we want to take it to. do I spend all this money for a 80kw gain ot there abouts & have reasonable drivability or do I take it to the next level & have complete weapon on the street & track. by the way the wife has a work car so im not really concerned about it being a designated family car. can always run it detuned when she has it. decisions decisions

hahaha yeah probably but I intend to keep it for a while so I want to make sure its bullet proof & make sure im happy with it in a couple years as well. worst thing is & I didnt think it was possible but you get used to the power almost bored after a while so I/we search for more. im takin it down the drags this weekend so I'll see what we can get out of it & go from there as to what benchmark we want to set for it. starting to have sleepless nights again planning what I want to do but I love it. plus my theory is theres no use turning up to work on monday if your not broke.
