no they will only do the bit that has the paint missing that's why high pressure washing is the go if want a full respray ,something like 3/4 of the panels need damage before they do a full spray.

But report the damage that's there now and go from there

not really.. I was at ford 4 weeks ago for my mrz car and he found a few flakes on the car (mostly boot) and he said they will spray the whole car bare metal regardless.. just shattered they dont do any plastics because her car has alot of scratches on the bumpers..

2 months ago this started as a tiny flake

As I said on my earlier post I would let anyone I know with shockwave paint about this problem.

It has paid off. A mate of mine at the pub has a 2005 xr6 and his paint started peeling and he was panicking.

Told him about this forum, he took his car in and got the full respray.

So thanks to this forum it has saved 2 people so far.

Good work guys

Thanks

Holy cow, that ain't good

Have you been washing the car with a high pressure washer or gun at a self serve commercial car wash place like Pro wash

They usually run at 1100 psi and at that pressure, the paint can be damaged if the water is sprayed at the paint from within a few feet

If that's not the case and you have been hand washing it then it is definately a ford australia factory caused problem

Geez it looks thin

1100 psi that's nothing I wash mine with 6000 psi washer works a treat but I stand like a meter away
