ok ok I need to know my ute is o5

n I think it is getting the sockwave cancer to,

if I walk into ford n ask for a respray will I get it free?

go in and see them, they should do it but you may have to push them... depends on the dealer...

the local dealer here did dad's shockwave bf no issues when I took it in...

got a call back from the ford bodyshop here in newcastle to tell me that ford had rejected my claim as they didn't think the problem has progressed enough to warrant repairs yet as there are only a couple of small areas affected, they said they would need to see it much worse before offering a full respray, F*%#K THAT SH*T !!!!!! I went off at the guy and told him I was not going to drive the car around as it gradually looked worse and worse. the manager at the body shop agreed entirely and advised me to lodge a complaint. called ford customer care lodged a complaint, they will get back to me in a week, next call was to fair trading, they think I have a fair claim and sid if I dont have a satisfactory answer from ford within a week to open the dispute through them, this then goes against the dealer that I bought the car from which I thought was strange as its a factory issue not a dealer issue ( I bought the car from darwin and had it shipped down here) talked to the used sales manager up there, good bloke, he said he couldnt believe ford had taken that attitude "f*&king disgraceful" were his exact words I think, anyways he is going to see what they can do from thier end ... so now I just need to be paitent for a week and hope they come good. if not its on and I have no drama going to court over this as I paid a sh*tload of money for this car and they have let me down with the quality

Also on a side note for thoise guys having paint problems after the 3 yr warranty the manager at Kloster body works here in newcastle told me there is a 5 yr warranty on this type of paint defect.

hit the problem areas with a pressure washer, that'll make it bad enough so you dont have to wait for it to happen gradually...

I took mine in last week and I'm waiting to hear back from ford.. initial inspection by the onsite manager said it looks like most of the front will be done, and some of the rear... I'm gonna push for a full respray though.. (provided they cover it at all, after reading BF_F6Shockwave's story)..

Talked to FPV customer service today and was basically told that there was nothing that I could do.... well theres no way I am going to sit on my hands whist my car slowly looses all its skin .. I lodged a complaint with the department of fair trading straight away, I talked to the dealer that I bought it off (in darwin) and they have cracked the sh*ts about it too (not at me , at ford LOL) advised on a few things to do and who to write a letter explainging the whole situation and send it directly to ford.

This is becoming a massive pain in the ass but I determined to get it fixed up

Has anyone else has this much trouble getting this paint issue sorted?? mine has not gotten anywhere near as bad as some of the others on here but it will be soon the way its going.

mine took a month at the paint shop but alas has finally returned !!!! ford paid for the respray to all the metal bits on the car. they did not touch any plastic areas. n I had to pay to get my rear bar replaced(which is fair as there was damage done by me on it) & painted.

I was annoyed at the fact that I had to pay for painting but I couldnt argue as I just wanted it done n dusted with !!

overall the car looks awesome now!

ford should n would fix it mate. they know its a fault in the paint.
