well they work because the physically hold the nut in place, the stud could still work its way out though but I definately think you would be better of with them than without them

Has anyone got a good way to keep the bolts in place ?

I have read about Copper Grease, Loctite and many others, bit noone seems to have a good solution aside from wiring them up or weilding them.

I asked this question at my local Hoxton Park Auto shop and was advised that the area gets to hot for Loctite and other similar products to have any effect.

looks like a new etm product to me. full turbo stud kit with locking nuts.
lol I already have them drawn up on cad but have been too busy/lazy lol to get them lasercut

I'd buy that, how much? Those G-Lock-10 things go for $30 for a set of four off the 'online auction site'.

If the bolts are loose and they are tightened can this give you more power? Just had the phoon serviced and it FEELS faster and they said that the bolts were loose. Mind over matter maybe?

I dont think so unless you have several that are really loose and the seal is broken where you would then start to lose compression from seal beaing broken as a result of the loose bolts not holding the mannifold in place.

Did mine again on the weekend ,just the usual couple at the back were exhuast manifold bolts to head, two were easy to undo with fingers only ,all the rest were fine ,exept the same as yours one missing from dump pipe bracket

I had noticed a slight exhaust smell in the cab last few times I went out ,it has gone now so the back bolts must have been letting a little gas out
