Box Pod

I was thinking of removing my air box and replacing it with a pod from a previous car as it worked well but I noticed that other aftermarket pods , growler etc. have a box around them anyway, does this not defeat the purpose. just the straight pod no box suck more air, more air the better ? I also noticed when cai changed to under battery side they are generally pod only ? can anyone make scence of this thanks

Exposed pod = sucks hot air from around the motor.

They box them in to make them legal and also to direct the air from the front of the car.

Doing the 2nd CAI mod from a F6 is all that is needed. Pods are not always the best option unless you are relocating the intake to the other side of the motor.

thanks zap-f6 that makes scence, already have second intake,do you think the under battery is better or is it only better because when under battry is done they have better piping and lose the crossover.
