I went for .8 plugs on a stock tune knowing I was doing work and a tune in 6 months or so. Runs fine on stock factory tune.

well gave this a crack today, Number 1 and 2 gave me no problems, but the rest of the coils would NOT come out, after trying for 5min with coil 3 the top of the coil came off with the spring from inside still attached, and the body was still down the shaft attached to the spark plug, scared me, so threw it back in, and only got to change 2 of the 6. Not sure why the top broke off, but I think I'll leave it for my next upcoming service. I don't want something to happen.

I just grabbed the spring with a pair of needle nose pliers and removed it. Try not to pull to fast as the spring may stretch which isnt a biggy but keeping iot the same would be better. Try WD40 or INOX soften the rubbers from the alloy head.

Had a breeze of a time changing coils and plugs for the first time ever today thanks to the guide, good on ya. Hardest part was getting the crossover off and I've done that I don't know how many times now while doing general service.

#6 plug wasn't even that hard, though I couldn't fit my universal joint in there as it is too wide, had to go with assembling the extensions while in the hole as described. Think I'll buy a low range torque wrench though so I know they are done up to spec, 1/4 turn after it started to tighten felt pretty tight on a couple so I didn't push it all the way.

Fingers crossed these VDO coils dont' sh!t themselves too quickly.

Went with genuine Motorcraft SK20R7 (0.7mm) plugs as seen on left here. Used plugs are probably at least 140,000km - never changed since I bought her so possibly 170,000km.
