Yeah sorry...can't find the thread though. Might have actually been a metal sign come to think of it.

They came through unscathed, could have been allot worse.

This happened to me when I bought a SS Commodore. I worked across the road from the dealer, they even saw me walk across the road to my workplace and then I was sitting in the lunch room having a sandwich and see my SS Late model camira drag off another car at the lights. Then I saw it do it again and they just kept going up and back down the road.

Funny thing is I actually had a video camera in the lunch room with me (just lucky really) so I filmed them going up and down.

So I walked across the road with the video camera and showed the service manager (the car was not back yet from the test drive) and he was horrified, however I think it was more the fact that I got it on video than anything else.

I went off my head at him and I ended up getting 3 years of free servicing out them for it.

Trust me its not only mechanics who do this sort or crap. My cousin used to work at a wash n shop carwash at southland shopping centre he used to tell me how they all used to take out the customers cars for a flog down nepean hwy, he actually got busted and lost his licence driving a skyline that came in for a wash so yeh just beware even leaving your cars with car washes theyr not the most trustworthy people either. When I get my car serviced as long as its just a minor service ill hang around until its finished. If its a major service ill write down how many kms ive done and ask them if it will be driven if they say no then there should b no more kms done. Fkn cnts for writing off this guys monaro id b MEGA pissed if it was my car!

I think this happened to my car once... Dropped it off at Ultra tune for a service, the place was recommended to me by a friend, said they do a good job bla bla bla. Anyways I didnt take note of how many kays or anything on the car, when I go to pick it up, a few of the guys working there had smirks on there faces, a couple of them commented on how 'nice' my car was... Didnt click till I left.. You know when ya give ya car a floggin, and I just feels 'loose' like it just wants to go, that's what it felt like... Have never been back, not even to stamp my log book..

Im not having a go MiKa,..... but you only "think" that they took it for a fang?

Your friend wouldn't have recommended them if he ever had a problem.....they complimented you on your car.....and when you picked it up, you reckon it felt like it just wanted to ..go.

Wasn't that the object of the exercise.....?

Oh, and your really only doing yourself a disservice by leaving holes in your car's service history....

Like em' or not.....go back and get your log book stamped....

I booked my car in to a tyre place (the one next to ultra tune on main north rd, Adelaide). Anyway as I left some punk got in a customer car reved the sh*t outta get, then slammed it it gear. Drove into the garage slammed on the brakes (big skid) then reversed and drove forward again before skidding, reving the sh*t outta it then turning it off.

Im glad I sore it as my car did not end up making the 330 appointment. This is also 1 big reason I do all maintenance I can myself.

It must have bad brakes that needed testing, a diff that clunked with an engine that sounds funny at high revs, a squeaky door when slammed closed hard and an ABS failure. Sounds like most of our cars.

Hey! There thorough.

I take mine to my local mechanic, I will never let Fraud touch my car.

Not only are the great mechanics, but I have gone in their so many times just to get a noise checked out, he will drop everything, take it for a quick drive, give me a diagnosis, if its going to be 15 minutes, fixes it, and doesn't charge me! All the times I've said to him "how much do I owe ya?" he is like "nah nothing, you always bring your car here, your girlfriends car, your parents - word of mouth is good enough" - I know he doesn't thrash my car, not like its some beast that draws lines down the road, but in any car a thrashing is just that, working its balls off. And word of mouth would be damaging to them since they rely on it. But I can say, as soon as I start to get my car tuned and worked on, when I take it to him, I will definitely be inviting him to take it to the motorway and open it up - firstly, if he knows what it drives like - he knows whats wrong - and he also owns a BA mkII Falcon - same year model and even colour as mine. So he has a feel for how they should be driving when mechanically sound. Not only that, but I get great prices for anything done, and some of it is EXPENSIVE when broken (thanks Fraud for the overprices parts) - and he has offered to do any work on the car that I want done (performance wise). He currently works on two guys GT-P's, one of which the owner didn't like the original paint, original interior or anything and has spent close to 100K on the car already just getting things re done to his tastes. (100K including the car price second hand) and one day was telling me about the cars, and even said "I'd love to open them up one day but unfortunately haven't needed to"

Fark me, I only read this thread 2 days ago and you would not believe this, I’ve had a squeak in the back of the car it been in and out for warranty finally fixed it yesterday.

When I dropped the car off, I had this thread in the back of my mind, so I wrote down the km’s, fuel economy and roughly how much fuel was on the gauge.

Picked up the car and checked these things, they had done 13km’s, economy went from 11.3 to 26lts p/100 and used a ¼ of a tank.

When I put it to them, they said the car was only driven around the block to see if the squeak had gone; the service manager was not there nor was the dealer manager.

While the cat is away…..

I have a meeting with them this morning….. :banghead: :pimp::thumbsup:
