Have you upgraded anything yet???

Yeah, probably around the same pace... You might run a 13.2... I will probably run a 13.1 cause I cant get traction!!! Actually, being 100% honest, my car doesn't brake traction too much... I dont know if it is the tyres I have or not... I bought Nankang NSII cheap, not knowing that I was gonna run it down the 1/4... BUT it actually holds on better than the stock dunlop 9000 series... Not much good for burnouts... LOL

You coming to Calder tomorrow?

I should be there around 11:30 I think. Dont forget about daylight savings...

If you dont mind me asking turboworm, why did you go for 60lb injectors when you are only running 335rwkw?

Being such a big injector wouldn't they have a tendancy to run rich at idle and low rpm which would mean more tuning to get right?

I have the eugene 39lb injectors and run the same power as you with excellent idle quality and no lean afr's.

nankangs for price and performance are excellent also

I guess it's in case I want more power... And my tuner likes them... Idle is good.. Yeah, may go back to 42lb injectors as last resort... See how we go...

Nankangs are going well...

Turboworm went to Calda today. Seen a blue car looking similar to yours with differnt mags. Did you race? If so what times?

You have'nt mentioned if you are happy with your new mods.

Yeah dude... Raced... VEry happy with mods, just need a new clutch... I was there with my wheels... Was on the infield....

Ran 13.9 with 2.9s 60 foot and clutch slipping @ 172kmh (108mph)... First run ever... Shagged up to launch... Got it to 3000rpm... Went to dump it, thought it was gonna go green... went, then stopped then went... Bogged down heaps... But went ok after that launch...

Second run wasn't worthwhile... I didn't run it, after I tried to launch, the clutch just slipped like a bitch in 1st, 2nd and 3rd... just cruised in 4th LOL was like 18.9...

Will have to wait until I get a new one... Has anyone got a Mal Wood's option 3 that they have used to do 1/4 miles in? How does it hold up?

Turboworm, you must have run before I got there today (approx 1.30PM). Sounds like a new a new clutch is the go (heavier pressure plate). I assume you have got the 6 speed box. Bit of quartermile nerves mate, next run will be better. It is very hard launching a turbo well, I find that sometimes it is better to let it bog down off the line ie 2000 RPM launch to avoid the initial wheelspin. You will get wheelspin once it gets into boost anyway.

Good stuff turboworm, all the best with the LPG conversion. I would like to check it out after its finished.

Quite funny... Today when they checked over my car they all had a look a the Liquid Gas Setup...

Most of them where like "F&ck, that's awesome..." Cleanest and neatest install they had seen in the engine bay... People where asking me what the injectors were...

Hopefully it will be up and running on gas within a month with a new Option 3 clutch from Mal Wood... then we should see a 12...

Some news... We are going to install Bosch 968 injectors (42lbs)... And then run the gas injectors inline with these.

This may be the way to go as they cant get gas injectors that will flow enough to match the 60lbs... And no one in the world makes injectors that will as far as we know... The other option was to run duel gas injectors.. But I think this is extreme and a waste of $$$...

I dont mind changing injectors... The 42lb injectors are rated at 85hp each and since my car is only 450hp, the injectors should be fine on my tune... :-) I am not greedy and wont be searching for more hp... :-)

At this point of time it appears the gas Injectors manufactured for Icom will not be able to match the flow of seimens 60 lb injectors which are the most common replacement injector fitted to the turbo 6.

The boys at ALPGW have tried drilling injectors to increase flow rates, but drilling them actually makes them flow less.

Icom can not believe we have street cars running around using this size injectors and making the power we do. They are sure they can match the flow of the 42 lb'ers as apparantly they beleive this is what some of the Roush trucks use in the states which Icom supply liquid kits for.

Any body with a modded turbo contemplating fitting liquid LPG Injection should consider using Bosch 42 lb injectors. These injectors as capable of flowing enough fuel for approx 350 rwkw and normally have better idle control, but do come at a dearer price

Bit of bad news... They cant get the existing Gas injectors to match my Seimens 60 pounders...

A few options for me...

Have 2 tunes, one for gas and one for petrol... No overly happy with that... We got 275rwkw out of the gas injectors, so that may be a last resort...

ALPGW have ordered in some bigger, supposedly higher flowing injectors that they have never used before... I can be their test pilot... (This is the option I am taking for now!!!)

Another option, I can go back to standard injectors (A waste of time. All of my mods will be a waste of cash)

I could change my injectors to the 42lb injectors... But once again a big loss of power, but this means I could have the same tune on gas and petrol...

We could run twin injectors... Seems a bit drastic, but its a maybe, dunno how many people would want this cause it wont be cost effective... They will need to modify the fuel rail... Has anyone seen a V/Straight 6 running 18 injectors? LOL 6 for petrol and 12 for gas... :-)

Either way, I might have to buy another fuel pump for the gas tank as well... I am not that worried about that... $150-200...

Will let you know of any other progress... Good thing is... Cops should stay off my back as I have a debagded XR6 on LPG... :-)

Cheers,

Worm

The good thing is, they seem to want to work it out... So, anyone who has bigger injectors and some nice horsepower... Don't get Liquid Gas Injection just yet!!!

The injectors may not come in from the states for a few weeks, so I will keep you posted... I am still gonna have a crack at Calder on Sunday on petrol if its not wet... See how we go...

Mate this is the excact same problem im having with my vapuor gas system ,and its all to do with the siemans as well ,

I can and have been driving for about 2500km now great economy but after 1/4 throttle goes blubbery and lean so for day to day driving its fine ,im in the process of getting a new tune done on petrol and the inconjuntion with the gas tuner on another slot in the capa getting the gas tuned to suit(petrol tuner says he can give the gas tuner the injector pulse he wants )hopefully this sorts out my issue

trust me I know what your are going through but it will be worth it in the end

I had my dads accent for a week while mine was at the panell shop getting bonnet and front bar painted and I did 306kms and put 33 bucks petrol in it ,makes this the same to run as the falcon :blaah:

so I hope with this new tune (should get another 20-30rwkw after exhust and new rapid cooler )it will do 12,s and bet the same as a hyundai to run :roflmbo:

so you can have your cake and eat it
