Pitlane,

You made me laugh drawing analogies comparing the human anatomy and peoples opinions (Have you been watching Kenny the movie?).

Question for you. Have you seen increased effeciency (better fuel efficiency) when using these injectors in other cars you have tuned. Turbtrana's coment regarding spray atomisation rerminds me of something I read on the APS web site regarding why their injectors achieved better results. They compare three injector types:

Quote from APS web site - 'The picture above shows three different types of injectors that physically fit the XR6T engine. From left to right:

1. Directional Multi Orifice injector which has a split spray pattern suitable for use in the XR6T engine

2. Standard Multi Orifice injector which does not split the spray and is designed for a single valve head

3. Old fashioned pintle style injector, again with a single spray. '

What injector type is the Bosh vrs Siemens? Type 1, 2 or 3?

Interesting Read (refer URL)

both injectors are designed to work with our multivalve heads.

Personally my own experience for the long test, Ihave only used the seimens in my wifes T, so are probably not qualified enough to report on differences between using the different injectors.

Results should not be based on just 1 tank of fuel either, so you probably need opinions from owners that have had the different injectors for some time and get their opinions

No I have not seen Kenny :Welcome2FordXR6t:

hey worm,

im gettin my T converted now down at ICES in rowville and should be ready Wed/Thur.. hopefully I dont have as much trouble as you've gone through..

Question though, my BA XR is completely stock n like u said before u cant push it over 260kw.. is it just because the injectors that are fitted wont handle it or its coz of the actual LPG setup?

Once the conversion is done I was hoping to get over the 300 benchmark but now a little bit scared to do mods.

I learnt all my injector stuff from this guy

Check out his other videos.

So I put some EV6 style injectors into an engine that originally had pintle and there was alot of different, especially cold starts and able to run much leaner a/f ratios. I think it also helped with reducing/eliminating detonation (But it could be my imagination) as I have run 15.5 a/f ratio at full load up a hill and 30+ deg advance (cant remember but alot) and cant ping the thing

You wont notice any difference in the upper RPM

Quick update boys...

They put in bigger injectors which should match the flow rate of my Bosch 42lb... When they ran it on the dyno, it was rich at low rpm and slowly became lean as they increased rpm... Decided to try install another Walbro Fuel pump into the gas tank and also bigger fuel lines...

They are (hopefully) working on it all day tomorrow as they have time, as they have been working on and off since last Tuesday...

I am kinda hoping to get it back tomorrow night, as I would really like to run it at Calder. I think if we cant get it working to match the petrol injectors, then we will run two tunes... A gas tune, that will also work on petrol (around 300rwkw I expect) and then a petrol tune I will use for drags with 350rwkw...

I think I will still be happy running around with 300rwkw on gas :-)

I'll let you know as soon as I know anything!!!

Ok... So this is taking a long time...

Much longer than I expected... Luckily my old man has plenty of cars, so I am driving his 08 territory around... LOL It feels like I could ride over everyone. Got in the Mrs SR2 Laser today and I felt like I was in a go kart... Like I could put my hand out the window and touch the ground...

Anyway. On to the gas... Rang up Ben today (@ Australian LPG Warehoue), who is the man who is making the changes to the car. They didn't end up fitting an extra fuel pump, they are trying different things. They are very good and explained to me that they are documenting things as they go, so they can keep a track of what to do with other performance cars... ie.. Injectors will get XXX rwkw, but then if they drill them, they will max out at XXX rwkw... After this you will need a fuel pump to get XXX rwkw, then bigger fuel lines to get XXX rwkw... As my car is making 350+rwkw, they are testing stuff out as they go... So they know how much each mod will allow them to make as they dyno it... Takes them lots of time... And I guess at the end of it, I get 350rwkw on 54c per litre gas... Cheaper than driving a Hyundai Getz, with more power than a Ferrari :-) (If only it handled like one!)

Will know more tomorrrow morning and update everyone then...

I hope I have it back by Saturday and the weather is good... Calder, here I come

All this testing they are doing with your car, how are the stock internals gonna be holding up with those cnstant dyno runs, and when you get the car back on the road for long term life of your engine?
