Ok... So I am home with the gas installed... BUT, it dont work... LOL But I do have my car so I am happy.

The guys from LPG Warehouse in Frankston will be looking at it on Monday... It runs on LPG just not very well, dont know if it is a tuning issue or because I have had the injector flow rate matched... Who knows...?

Anyways, I have taken some pics of the install. It still needs to be "cleaned up" as I kinda rushed em... :sold:

Ok... So here are the pics, taken late in my garage under poor light. My engine back is stock... Until I upgrade to my rapids kit tomorrow :w00t2:

My Engine Bay with it all installed!!! Cant see much difference ha?

The clips on the injectors are green... Very stealth...

The Tank - Looks a bit space age... Different to any gas tank I have had

Gas Gauge

post-16390-1222425757_thumb.jpg

So there is the setup... Just need to get my Rapids kit on...

I was kinda thinking... When I put my rapids cooler on with non stock piping, if I get pulled over by the police I can pretend that it is an NA and say the piping into the throttle body is "part of the gas system from what I know???" I have taken off the turbo badge too :-)

I will give you an update on Monday night as to what is happening with the gas running etc... The 12psi actuator and Walbro Fuel Pump for the petrol are going in on Monday, then the custom tune on Wednesday at Pit Lane in Frankston (highly recommend Mick, legend :-)

A few things you may want to know. The gauge etc are not integrated with the stock fuel system... So all you see is the little fuel gauge I have shown a pic of... Maybe they will update this at a later stage? Who knows?

The engine bay is nowhere near as messy as with any other gas system I have had (HAD MANY!!!)... Good for Mods... Doesn't get in the way of anything... You could also run plenum and have no problems I reckon. My Rapids V3. kit looks like it will fit a treat with no mods...

It is in the early stages, so of course there will be teething problems, I recognise that...

The cost was $4700 for me, which included having the injectors recalibrated to match my Siemens 60lbs injectors (that was $100, so $4600 without this)...

I get back $2000 from the government rebate, which puts me out of pocket $2700... For the moment... I will save this in the first year... ($30ish per tank instead of $95ish)

Performance once tuned should be better than with petrol as you can increase the timing...

Also, for those of you who didn't know, there are some gas stations that run 100% propane gas which is 114RON... And some that run a 50/50mix of butane/propane which is ~104RON... But the 114 ones are scarce at the moment... (One less than 10 kms from me... Yay)...

I will let you know performance figures probably next wednesday night with any luck, depending on how we go with getting the system up and running well on Monday...

Cheers,

Worm

P.S. Any questions just ask, but I don't know heaps about it myself... :-)

The ECU...

post-16390-1222425406_thumb.jpg

It's not actually an ECU, it's an ICU. does not have any control on the injector flow etc etc, it only controls the switch over and the priming of the gas system.

Yeah that's fine, but the car will not be able to be started for a while though.

But I need to pin the guys down about a few issues anyway, at least this way they will have no escape :sold:
