Not 100% on the transbrake but a foot brake is just your normal every day brake setup... Operated by your foot.

Congratulations on the time Leigh & I look forward to hearing your results in the coming weeks :spoton:

There wont be any results for a while now as I have to cage it up.

Wikipedia definition of a transbrake-

In drag racing, a transbrake is a setup installed in automatic transmissions which places the transmission in first and reverse gears at the same time, effectively "braking" the transmission. With the transmission locked in this manner, the engine can be accelerated to a certain RPM in preparation for launch and the racer doesn't need to worry about the car creeping forward. A split second before the green light illuminates on the Tree the transbrake is released (either automatically by a delay box or manually by the driver) and the car launches forward, its engine already at the beginning of its powerband and the transmission is already in gear.

it does sound violent to the driveline...

wonder how long the box would handle that kind of punishment and torque before it lets go..

Exact power levels are unknown to a degree as when it was dyno'd it actually had severe air leaks but it turned over 385rwkw, when I fixed the leaks it felt so much stronger on the road.

I ran 2mph faster than markvan did and he was dyno'd at 414rwkw on the cv dyno so that gives an idea of what the actual power figure is.

Well done Leigh, not a bad time and MPH ... I managed to get out there late last night for a look and saw the run.

Like you said, from the stands the run looked like a walk in the park. The launch was very sedate and the car didn't sound like it was working very hard to get to the finish line. It looked like a nice straight run.

I agree with the footbrake vs transbrake aruement that the footbrake is quicker, easier to control and no where near as harsh as the transbrake. Should be interesting to see how she goes once you have the transbrake launch sorted out !!
