I dropped my car off yesterday at the auto shop. Gave him your number and he is going to call you before he calls _______. Hope they front up and pay part of the bill or I WILL be posting there shops name on here! Guys from Brisbane I went to GILROYS AUTO'S at Toowoomba. He quoted me $2200 for a complete rebuild to standard. I am getting him to put in the AU V8 planetries and some other goodies as per a few threads I have read. Will let you know how much the total bill is when the job is done and exactly what was done. His name is Peter Gilroy and he was recommended to me by Paul at ELITE. He is right into drag racing and seems to be really switched on with the BTR 4 speed. Will keep you posted. Sure this helps but as I have stated before on this forum, eliminating the S3, S4 and S5 solenoids gives you lighting fast shifts and is probably the best way to mod this box for high boost. Not many gearbox builders know how to do this, but will give you an otherwise strong box but without the (IMO) necessary solenoid mods, the shifts just arnt as strong as they could be. I won't know fully until it's been on the Elite dyno tomorrow to have the shift pressures checked. Can't wait to get back out to the strip and give her WOT, and see what she does without a searching box.The service at WSA was very good, and the turn around was really impressive. Now we will see how Graham builds his boxes. So far, so good.
PDIDDY Senior Member Member 159 Member For: 18y 1m 4d Gender: Male Posted 17/09/08 06:07 AM Share Posted 17/09/08 06:07 AM Well, just picked it up from Elite, and all is good. Feels very solid, and shift pressures were spot on. The only gripe is that there is a small vibration at idle, which is annoying, so I will be taking it back just to make sure. Now I can't wait to open her up and drive her how she was meant to be driven. Bring on Willowbank.

But when a shop or person is a plain rip off then they deserve to be named. Who ever charged you $800 for a "shift kit" is a straight up cheat. If it was me, I'd be naming names so other members can steer clear. And a good tuner is worth every cent because as you've learned the hard way, they can save you big bucks in the longer term.Have fun with it but be safe... Makes it a lot better to drive when you have some confidence in the hardware.
