Chatting to a taxi driver the other day. he runs a ded gas falcon with over 400,000kms young. He reckons they are no different to the petrol in terms of life/parts etc. However, a tank will only get you 400kms max, and not everyone sells gas... You also miss out on 40 odd kw over a petrol.

Falcons are not fuel misers. They are big, comfy, powerful and heavy. She may be better suited to a mazda 6, my old man gets 6-8L/100kms easily.

Same colour cars is not cool.

thanks for the thoughts.

Like the idea of dedicated gas over a dual fuel option so we dont loose any room in the boot, will have a look at the mazda 6's. We get about 480 out of our work ute which is flogged, I know taxis drivers drive them harder though.

same car colours are so cool, only if we wear matching same colout 80's parachute material jumpsuits though.....

I have recently purchased a factory dedicated gas BF WITH 78OOO KM FOR $16K AND my brother has purchased same in wagon formfrom the auctions, and will be doing the cross country trip soon.Mine gets 580km minimum(with some left in tank)on the 90lt tank. And about 480km with aircon on and local driving.Performance is adequate only .But $45-$50 to fill....

if boot space is important then check one for yourself as the spare is visible in the boot so takes up half the availiable spacebut can be removed for those short trips to bunnings and the seat folded down when not using a trailer...

have also been told coles shoppers get the discount on gas but not woolies shoppers

I have a factory dedicated lpg BA Falcon,it is a pleasure to drive and it never misses a beat

Sure it doesnt have the power of the xr6 t I own,but it gets me around Sydney city for a fortnight on a 100 litres of lpg

this is the equivalent cost of running a corola. However I have much more space in this wagon, and feel a lot safer Go for it imobeerchug.gif
