Mate dont think about converting, if you get a Falcon just do it. I have my BA XLS converted to LPG with an SVI system. It is very worthwhile doing it.

To answer you questions:

1- With my system, there is very little power difference between LPG and petrol. You can really only tell when you are really pushing it and even then there isnt much difference.

2- You can get tanks that go in the boot behind the seat or you can get a donut tank that goes in the spare wheel well. I think they range in size from around 50 litres to 60 litres. I have a 60 litre tank in my ute.

3- I get around 400km+ from my 60 litre tank.

4- At current prices its about $40 to fill the tank.

The biggest thing I can suggest if you are considering a conversion is to do your research. Not only on the system, but also the installer. Make sure you get a good installer that knows what they are doing. A bad system installed very well beleive it or not is probably better than a good system installed poorly.

$3700 sounds good if it is an SVI (Sequential Vapour Injection) system which is what I would recommend. Mine cost $4000 around 2 years ago. I wouldnt recommend an old style mixer system on a BA or newer unless you do engine mods or go factory Egas (which is nothing special).

Thanks for your help mate, I'm still weighing it up at the moment. At the moment 4k seems alot to make up for it to be worth while. But on the other hand I want my BA back.

Oh and hows this, Fairmonts are actualy going cheaper then XT's. Is that wierd or what?

Dont forget that you get the $2k rebate, so it would be around $2000 to recoup not $4000. Depending on how many km you do, you should recoup that in a year. You just need to do your sums to see if its worthwhile for you.
