Will do senna. Thanks for your help guys! Good news by the way, spoke to a turbo expert and he says the turbo's fine (apparently "if it were damaged, you'd know about it"), so anyone out there know what that sound could be?? It sounds the way you would expect a loose heat shield to sound, but Ive checked those already. Ill check the exhaust next chance I get. Any other suggestions?

if its like a rummbling sound when you turn the car off = normal

If not you could have a heat sheild loose

Ok so I put the car over the pit and checked the exhaust... no visible damage, well bolted to the manifold too. My old man was helping me, and he discovered a really faint rattle in a section of the exhaust, about a foot or two from the manifold. I think it might be the cat converter cos its slightly larger than the pipework. We gave it a bit of a shake, then poked around a bit more and eventually found nothing more but when we left - no more noise. The system is an aftermarket Manta, installed by a previous owner. So now Im thinking a damaged cat. Worth pursuing, or is it best just left alone??

Awesome.. more money spent :bowdown: Is it likely to be a whole new cat that Im up for? and what exactly should I be checking anyway? By the way Leigh, hopefully Ill get into the bank to transfer the $$ for the oil supply filter tomorrow, if I can get outta work on time. I havent forgotten ya!
