Popping From Exhaust

My thoughts are the same as Senna's. When the car is cold it'll be dumping alot more fuel in to keep it idleing and with dekas this could be compounding that. Most cats wont be working at this time as they are not hot enough to burn the excess fuel, I couldn't see the exhaust system being hot enough to ignite unburnt fuel so I'm a little undecided as to what might be happening. I don't think it's too much to worry about as long as it's not backfiring loudly.

My FG is stock and it does it from a dead cold start. First 5mins in the morning driving to work, if I give it a bit of gas and lift off sharply it pops like crazy!

I saw an fg turbo ute dump it today and black smoke went everywhere, very rich. the dekas are hard 2 control at idle though, that's a fact.

The exhaust is standard, and the Dekkas I got off a group buy from Danny.. he fitted them and tuned them, so I doubt its them or him..

Straughsberry... dont quite know what you mean, but if its valve springs your talking about they are nizpro and fitted by them too..

Idle is fine, its just the exact point when it turns over it does one or two pops.. I wouldnt describe it as backfiring, but you can def hear it from outside the car and just hear it in the cabin..

It only started like a few weeks to a month ago, and the tune has stayed the same, so its not that... I think from memory Danny said I had a fairly safe sorta tune...

I think Senna might be on the right track..

Anyother ideas guys?
