Ex chasers.... besides them being ex cop cars.... is there actually anything different with them? Id assume that have better springs? Modified boost?

Depending on the model, bigger brakes and usually a larger alternator....they are not 'chipped' like the urban legend suggests!

I honestly don't know how you guys drive your T's in the wet.

Counter-steer!

I suppose it's the fact that coppers have to get to where they're going in anyway possible, so if that means mounting the curb at 50km/h, then so be it... a private car wouldn't receive such abuse.

Yeah I have an EX Chaser BF Mark II like the one you test drove with similar KMS...and the diff clunk is most likely the diff bush as I had the same thing and that was replaced under warranty.

The Premium brakes are noticeably grippier than your standard XR6T brakes but appart from little things like reverse sensors and the interior light not going on when you open the door the car is pretty much standard.

Though I know what you mean for a standard car they just seem like they are a bit gutsier than your every day run of the mill XR6T...Im the last person to encourage the myth of Chasers being modded etc...but for some reason they do seem more wiling to co operate when you put the foor down.

Like I said BF Mark II Chasers with around 60KM are fetching anywhere from around 15-19K at Fowles Auctions in Sydney depending on condition.

thanks tab... having a cruise on the 27th of september?? but that's grand final day!

Anyone that would be interested in that grand final is not welcome anyway  The date was chosen to suit a few people that couldn’t make any other day.

They are ‘run in’ very well...that’s the secret.

I think it becomes luck of the draw when it comes to buying a chaser...I took 2 for a run before I got my standard BA2 T and one was fine but the other brute was a pig (parden the pun) When it got to about 100 k's the car shook ...gears were slipping...NO THANKS. Find a good one and you are laughing....history of any car is important. Just hope the 55 year old guy I got mine from wasn't Craig L's old man!
