I do like the thought of compounding intrest. I do like the thought of making lots of $$ investing in shares. I do know alot of people that over the years have lost ALOT of $$, they recover and bam another 70, 100, 130 k lost. a friend of mines old man was high up in the management of centro. the amount he lost not long ago , im pretty sure I woulda topped myself. im talking millions (as in like 6). 6 months before centro ate shhit, I was advised by a successful investor to "buy up big" in centro. hows centro doin now??

gaurantee ill be rich , and im there! but ill stick to bricks and mortar for the time being. unless your well errr umm STUPID, I cant see you losing.I did veeeerrrryyyyy well on my first house in 30 months. id even go as far to say it has set me up for life. if we were to stay at this new house forever(but the plan is 2 years) with what we pay per week, ill be mortgage free by 31. im 27 now, wifeys 23.(chicks have it so easy haha)

so theres lots of ways to make dollars, just decide which way u wanna go.im sure the more balls u put on the line, the more you can make, and the more you can lose. just the thoughts of a sipmle young bloke.

Stuff property, im going to be buying some banking shares, just started working for NAB, shares have copped a battering in the last 6 months. Buy in when the market crumbles & sit pretty in 12-24 months when it recovers & you double the money.

Property is pointless atm as you would earn the same by throwing money in a savings account & earning 7-8% in interest. Rent would be just covering the interest bill which would make the only gain capital growth.

Wrong. Tell that to the poor bastards that lost over half there super in shares, if the bank doesn't recover your f*cked. Property will always be worth something and I'm yet to see a residential home loose 80% of it's value overnight. What about the tax benefits if you buy new? Depreciation? Goverment grants?

I had a whole lot of clients tell me how much the property prices in Melbourne have fallen over the past 3 months the other day. So I printed out an email I received from Enzo Raimondo(CEO of the REIV) that told me how median house prices in Melbourne had risen 4.9% in the June quarter... Who told them they had fallen? The media. So don't believe everything you read suckers. Property will never take massive hits like shares do... Yes I said NEVER

Papers put what ever they need to in there to sell papers its there job, but if you want facts then do your research and speak to experienced people in the industry.

Hey James have you actually met Enzo? I heard he was a bit of a *beep*.

there has been a lull, 8-10 months ago people were fighting for houses and paying top dollar. now there are bargains.id say I got my new house around 35k less than what it would have cost me a year ago. if people need to sell that's their problem/situation. but again, in the long run you will NEVER lose. well you might if your silly.
