Guys, picked up new FG ute today, however noticed when I got it home that the windscreen was chipped/cracked. Just by chance I took some photos prior to pickup in their yard a few days ago when it had no plates on it. and when I zoom in you can clearly see the crack so I can at least prove it happened before delivery. Dont know how I missed it myself , was so busy checking every panel for scratches etc. it got overlooked. Realistically should I get ford to fix the crack and put it in writing that if the crack gets to a point where the windscreen needs replacing they will replace it free of charge or should they replace the windscreen now. personally I would think the first option would be sufficient . Any opinions ?.

P.S. Otherwise I am wrapped in new ute, so much better/smoother drive than my old BA 4 SPEED.

thanks guys

Lets hope he doesnt get "Must have happened after you left the yard" response. It wouldnt be the first time the dealers have noticed such problems and let the customer drive away with it.

Yeah I.B. just lucky that the photos I took of my car at the dealership prior to pick up clearly show the chip when you enlarge and zoom on the computer, so if there was any funny business I would walk in to the dealers and plonk my laptop open with the photo of the crack and say "how do like them apples". If it was a cloudy day when I shot the photos it may not have been so clear. Anyway spoke to dealer today and there doesn,t seem like there will be a problem and we will go with one of the options I mentioned above.

Cheers, G.G
