I used to own a BA XR6T, I didnt drive it everyday, kept it in the garage and had another car as a run about. My XR6T is sold now and Im selling my runnabout car as well. All to buy one car to use.. (dont wanna pay double insurance, double rego etc)

Im thinking about FG XR6T but as a daily driver... Now Fuel prices arn't exactly great and neither is the resale on these XR6T's.. Someone paid $52k for a XR6T with Leather and premium sound not so long ago. Ford smile (or is it a brief smirk) when you sign up for a new car but when it comes to trade they really wind up and lay one on your chin.. One bitten... Dont know if Ill let them insult me again..

But im concerned with a daily driver...FG XR6T... not sure, who drives one everyday and thinks its a sensible car to drive everyday..

My Xr6T used to run for the garage when it looked like raining, it was never dirty, never parked anywhere... Its a different view when using it as a daily driver.. work stuff all over the car, parked at the cinema, in the rain, more km etc etc

Who is driving their XR6T's everyday? what are your concerns?

I think it's a little silly not driving any Ford or FPV range as a daily. It's not like you're spending $100k+ on them.

If I owned a farkin 911 Twin Turbo I might garage it, but it's just a Ford!

I'd rather spend the extra insurance, rego, servicing, tyres, petrol, time AND effort into keeping it in good condition as opposed to a daily bomb. Once you modify these things it doesn't really matter how many k's you've done, it's still a limited market to sell to unless you convert it back to stock... My 2 c :tonguepoke:

Driven every day, why just this morning scrapped my front bar on a gutter! :tonguepoke:

work, movies, going out, random drives, wet, dry, dusty, snow all done!

Keep the T looking good with a wash & vac once a week though.

Its all about what you find value in hulk, if you are happy to drive a Focus every day, then save your money and buy a Focus. If you want to drive something a bit nicer or bigger, what about a N/A XR6 with 6spd auto?

If you sold your T and your run-about car, I reckon you should buy something in-between - that way you'll have something respectable, but not have something that will break your heart if it gets a little mark here or there

Well I had better not get these silly economic arguments into my head for too long.. I get married in 3 months... If I went out today and bought a FG XR6T the Mrs would be ok about it as she is spending a packet on the wedding, but after marriage, Im hoping she dont tighten the screws...

Its funny how they forget real quick all the money they spend..

When I come to my senses it might be too late. :bum: Maybe I should just run out and grab one whilst the wedding spending bonanza continues (before my window of opportunity closes up...)

Daily driver here, yeh its a ford! Expensive Daewoo and fords are made to be good everyday cars that have great drivability, put it to good use

Just get a novated lease hulk. That way you can show her how much tax you're saving :bum: Worked for me! Well, plus, a few days after I ordered the F6 I whacked a nice big rock on her finger. She couldn't argue with that! :spoton:

excellent timing... I have already given my mrs the rock so my credit is long gone there.

problem is, after marriage, even if I do get a Fg Xr6T how do you slip out the extra few thousand you need for the intercooler, tune etc..

Ill be having bread and water for lunch everyday and when I get home say, geez honey food has gone up alot... Everyone spends $50 a day on lunch where I work.. (theres my intercooler slush fund)..

Gotta do it now before marriage!!! Book me tuner, ill pre-pay...I dont even have my car yet..
