DjGsTa Donating Members 944 Member For: 18y 20d Gender: Male Posted 07/10/08 12:38 PM Author Share Posted 07/10/08 12:38 PM Well mate the first thing you have to look at is what are you doing to cause the swirls. Are you washing and drying correctly? Did you notice more swirls after you finished claying, because if you did well that means you weren't claying it properly..You can cause swirls from claying by -Not using enough lubricant on the surfaceArea your claying is not 100% clean, still has dirt on itOr if you are using an aggresive clay to remove heaps of contaminents, you will get clay marring after, no matter what lube you use. Note that you should only use aggressive clay if you plan on polishing after. To get your swirls removed they would need to be polished, machine would be your best bet but if you dont have a machine to do so you can always do it by hand. You won't get best results by hand but there will be a difference.Dont bother with stuff like Meguiars ScratchX, that will just fill your swirls to make you think they're gone, and once the fillers are gone you = If you're interested in hand polishing it ( have a few coffees and V's before ) I'll suggest you some polishes to getCheers George Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/48592-step-by-step-guide-to-have-your-xr-looking-good/page/4/#findComment-746211 Share on other sites

I used a meguiars clay bar a blue colour one and I used water and soap(maguiars soft wash). I will hand polish it dude, id like to machine polish it but im not so keen on machine polishing it cause I have never done it before so yeah.Any idea what a full detail would cost? I have been thinking about it for 1 months now I found one guy now I just need to get a quote of him when im free....Thanks again dude.Pete Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/48592-step-by-step-guide-to-have-your-xr-looking-good/page/4/#findComment-746634 Share on other sites
