Im no expert, but why is it that WRC rally cars dont have BOV's from what I have read. Surely on your theories they would require 1 from lots of on/off throttle

I'd wager they don't expect to see 200,000+ kms on their turbos either. Med-Long term wear wouldn't be a factor.

WRC cars don't have the same turbo for potentially 100,000kms, some even go through a turbo after a few stages in an international rally. They run anti-lag which basically keeps the turbo spooling and on boost almost 100% of the time. This drastically shortens the life of the turbocharger. Not everyone has manufacturer and sponsor backed budgets remember....

or what grudgee said.. :runaway:

Thanks alot for all the input guys, very much appreciated.

senna and tab - I assume that you both do not run BOV on your babies.

can I also assume that you are running higher than normal boost levels on a daily basis??

I run an 8psi C&V custom tune for daily driving and a 10psi play tune. I think I will be ok to remove the BOV all together.

Ahhh, Tab's ute is about as stock as you can get it!

Mine has a bit of work done, running around 13psi. I am changing my cooler and intake set-up soon, with this I will go back to using a BOV.

Have you had your car dyno'd to check the afr's? Enjoy your car mate

What does AFR mean?? I never got the dyno slip, before anybody asks for it.
