yep adam that's what I thought but if the spacers go behind the csc then that measurement gets less which makes the difference even more. that is, the crush would be even more instead of less. I will pop out a take a couple of snaps.

The stock pressure plate is adjustable. Is the one you have adjustable?

Other than that I'm stumped. Never had to fit an aftermarket setup to one of these before.

Ok...

Well, the spacers couldn't go on the pressure plate and clutch so I would think they must go behind the CSC on the trans.

Can you post a pic of what they look like?

I haven't seen the instructions before, however I also think you've possibly measured it incorrectly...

I would think the spacers are probably used for a gap of a few mm at the most. I wouldn't expect you to be able to shim it up to 15mm...

Could be wrong. It's just a thought. :buttrock:

yep im sure your right, maybe im just measuring it wrong- heres hoping

I'm wondering if the crush is the amount the CSC moves the fingers of the pressure plate.

sh*te, nothing helpful to add here sorry mate... I had a local mechanic install my clutch ages ago as I CBF with the headfooks!

sounds like your eventually going to reach the 300kw mark, and with so many additions to the ever growing parts list now days, its not hard at all...... your going to need that t56 if your a heavy footer like myself....

goodluck with the install, and as always, hangin on that clutch review lol!

ps- nah havent sold or even advertised the ute yet, only here on the forums.... with the ass falling out of investment prices im not in a hurry to sell yet.. but if so, ill be happy.

OK its all sorted, just me measuring wrong. DOH

Well, its all done, the T56 and spec clutch r in and running.

The actual installation only took about 2 1/2 hours of working time, which I thought was pretty good given the conditions we were in.

The only real hick up we had was the lining up of the g box spline thru the pressure plate and clutch but once we tilted the engine a little more it slipped in like a co-k in a sock.

Tightened the tail shaft bolts and checked that all bolts were in and it was time to bleed the csc. This was a piece of cake and then down off the stands and on the road for the test drive.

The clutch feel is a little harder than the original but only marginally.

This T56 is soo much better than the T5 and the Mal wood short shifter is just great, reverse is a bit tricky but I'm sure ill get used to that.

Ill take it easy for a couple of thousand Kay's and then give the clutch a bit more to do, but at the moment there is no shudder or any other noise from this clutch, I realize the big test will be when its gets a bit more work to do so stay tuned for that in a couple of weeks.

The change to the T56 has been a bit of a mission but I think its all been worth it and we all learned a bit more about this car during these last few weeks. It certainly went back in a lot easier than it came out.

A Barbi and a few bevies were enjoyed after the work was done so a great day was had by all, except maybe Dave who pulled a muscle lifting the box.( no compo Dave sorry )

I have to say a big thank you to Mal wood for the info and help he gave me during this installation, he even rang me on Sunday morning because I couldn't raise him in Saturday. CHEERS MAL.

:innocent::beerchug:

PS I ordered my king springs, so they should be here ready for a next weekend installation. sl front ssl rear

Its all about the amount the csc is moved or compressed when the box is bolted up to the block, not enough of a crush and the csc could be forced off its guide during operation spewing fluid. Too much crush and the csc doesnt have the required travel ( this is how I understand it anyway )

correct me if im wrong you clutch pro's

But after I installed and bolted the pressure plate and clutch in place correctly it was within 1mm of the original measurements of the original clutch and flywheel.

Its all good.
