lol hahaa I had one , but this new fg turbo ute it off the hook . lovin it, sh*ts all over the Expensive Daewoo ute. :spoton:

I agree with some of the posts - I have the FG XR6T sedan and the traction in the wet is absolutely sh*t. The car has 1800kms on the clock and has not really improved at all. Very dissapointed in the wet - the car can easily snap hard in the lower gears with traction/DSC on. I found coming from the VE SS it is a real dissapointment in the wet.

Not sure if it is the tyres or mechanical grip - but this model is very poor at putting power to the ground unless it is dry

the FG Ts are not great at putting the power down, as for the F6 according to the mags it is well near impossible. I would like to hear an owners POV. Is it the peaky tune or just down to sh*t factory rubber ??

Spinning through both first and second would indicate that these cars are not optimally set up from the shed. All about horses it would seem.You would think that with the resources behind FOMOCO, we should be able to make more tractable power? Given the price advantage over the HSV equivalent Fraud should be able to hose these monkeys.

Give us some decent rubber, how hard can it be ?

I agree - in the FG XR6T spinning through 1st and 2nd is all too easy in the wet. Unless it is very light throttle it will just spin spin spin for me and it can even pull in various directions (with the steering pointed straight!). It is disconcerting when the rear is struggling for grip and the rear headed for a different lane when the steering is at straight ahead.

I wonder how it would be with significantly wider and better rubber.

There is this article in the magazine: For those who aren't aware of the difference between traction control and stability control, it goes somehting like this: Traction control will stop the rear wheels from spinning when the system detects they're going faster than the front wheels. Stability control goes one step further by being able to detect when the car is travelling too fast in a corner (thanks to steering angle sensors, a yaw sensor and sensors in the wheels) and applies the brakes or cut engine power accordingly to bring the car under control. It won't stop the laws of physics if you're going way too fast, but it will save minor indiscretions.

I can not understand why this particular FG XR6 T kept on spining through 1st and 2nd in the wet, the ESP should have cut in to limit the spinning at first instance as many other cars which I have driven with ESP had. Did someone turn the ESP off? Or perhaps a visit to the dealer to check it up.

The traction and ESP doesn't cut in for ages - I have had the ass of the car sideways and in the next lane from standstill (with steering pointed straight!) and the rear didn't stop pulling towards the other lane until I backed off the accelerator. Obviously this was on a wet road.
